Drew Patterson’s role of CEO at hotel search startup Room 77 is just his latest endeavor in 15 years in the online travel space. His experience launching two startups and holding executive roles at several high-profile travel companies makes him a rare and formidable player in the online travel space.
Patterson cut his teeth in revenue management at Starwood Hotels before going digital as VP of marketing at Kayak. He later left to launch Jetsetter and receive a $1 million investment from Gilt Groupe. Although he was kicked out shortly before Jetsetter sold to TripAdvisor, he bounced back into the world of online travel with the launch of the CheckMate, an app that streamlines hotel guest check-ins. Patterson’s app was acquired by Room 77 when he was tapped as its new CEO.
