Founders Fund Partner Geoff Lewis sits on the board of one of his company’s most disruptive investments, car-sharing startup Lyft, and he formerly was a board member of hotel review site Oyster before TripAdvisor acquired it. Founders Fund, which is also a big investor in SpaceX and Airbnb, raised $1 billion in March 2014 for its fifth fund. Lewis was previously CEO of Topguest, a company he founded that provided software-as-a-service loyalty platform with high-profile customers like United Airlines and Hilton Hotels. “Strategy, more than the idea, is what we’re looking for,” he says in an interview with Bloomberg TV. On Lyft, he adds, “We think peer-to-peer is going to win transportation in cities, and we think Lyft is going to win peer-to-peer.”
Before starting Topguest in 2010, Lewis started his professional career as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble and subsequently consulted for a number of top travel and entertainment brands, including Disney Parks & Resorts, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and Comedy Central.
