Philip Wolf has been everywhere lately. The PhoCusWright founder is now retired from an executive role, but he says he’s “actively retired,” and continues to be a well-known and widely-quoted industry figure who’s active on numerous boards. He began his travel career in 1989 heading a small agency and spent nearly 20 years with PhoCusWright analyzing and scrutinizing market trends, and a central focus of its conferences.
Wolf is the mastermind behind the annual PhoCusWright Conference and an entrepreneur, serving as board director for companies on four continents. In addition to the sale of PhoCusWright to Northstar Travel Media in 2011, Wolf was involved in the sale of Newtrade to Expedia in 2002 and the IPO of MakeMyTrip in 2010.
